Weather is Changin'

If this picture of Payton does not make you giggle-then you must be having a really bad day. Yes-the cold air of Colorado is here and my baby girl is victim #1 of being dressed ridiculously. This always reminds me of the little brother in the "Christmas Story" being overly bundled:)
Paxton decided to crawl in his tub of stuffed animals to hang out. Paxton now roll plays with his Elmo, Mr. Bear, Mr. Monkey and Mr. Doggie-this day he had just finished giving each of them some snacks-and yes, they all appreciated it!
Little man all decked out in his beanie this morning-I had to take a picture!
This is random-but here is a picture of a end table I refinished. It originally was dark brown and shabby looking from wear and tear-so I decided to do something fun! I love it-hanging directly above it is a tapestry that goes exactly with it! Love my purple and turquoise!

Whoa-who are those two people???? Yes-it is Preston and I and we actually still love each other. This past weekend we were able to escape.....I mean have some time to ourselves....and enjoy the fall in Colorado. Above we are at a place we like to frequent in Evergreen.
This is a picture of the patio we were eating on-not a bad view at all + no demanding kids in sight!
Preston posing downtown-since we had a short weekend free-we just decided to stay close and spend the night in Denver. It was lovely! The best advice regarding "time together" that I appreciate is from one of my favorite professors in seminary-Dr. Gibson. At the time we lived in New Orleans and he always suggested that sometimes the simplest couple getaways are going "into" the city you live in or near. Such good advice and something I try to remember and apply to our lives.

Blahhhhhhhh!!!!! A good day to open mouths wide and make noise: both of my kiddos are talkers.....I envision a good pair of head phones in my future:)

While everyone is napping and I'm trying to ignore the fact I can't breathe and food sounds awful (I have the flu) I thought I would distract myself by posting some random pictures of the kiddos. So here you go and thanks for the distraction!

Paxton crawled into the car and acted like he was driving. I think we are going to hide the keys...or Paxton might end up on the news with the opening "Toddler takes a spin behind the wheel"-with a shot of Paxton flying by smiling...ha...ha.. (I know my sister will understand that mental image that came with my funny thought).
Once again folks-yes, he is still wearing my head bands-a work out guru:)

After I finished feeding Payton one morning, I left her bottle on the sofa. When I walked back over I found my sweet sweet boy trying to feed his teddy bear her bottle. He was being so sweet and was really proud of himself -it really made my heart melt-he has a heart of gold.
I took this picture this morning-Paxton is a little Pablo Picasso. He LOVES to color (with marker) and his teachers at his mothers day out program say he always loves craft time....which is apparent due to his clothes covered in markers. Anyways-I am proud of him and can't wait to see what he creates! Maybe we could do a piece together:)

Baby "P"

I decided to post some pictures of "Baby P". Preston has been calling her this and yes...it has rubbed off on me. You might be wondering "ok-that is a weird thing to call her" but here is where it came from. Preston and I have decided that for Halloween this year we are going to dress up as "Dog and Beth" from "Dog the Bounty Hunter". Yes-you can laugh out loud-if you have no idea what I am talking about....look it up on the i-net and check it out-it's a very CLASSY show-ha. Anyways-they call their daughter on the show "Baby Lisa"- hence Preston referring to Payton as "Baby P". Wow-hope you enjoyed that story:)

The Return of Lap Swimming

I usually use this blog as a primary way of sharing pictures with my family a.k.a my parents. However, tonight I am just typing because I had to give myself some major props. This evening I went to the pool to swim for the 1st time after having Payton. In previous years I have LOVED lap swimming and know that it takes a bit of endurance to build up. Ok...here is the part where I brag- I whipped out 750 meters freestyle without stopping with my flip turns! What!?! This made me feel like the "old" Paty was coming back.....that I didn't spend the day getting screamed at and spit up on.

Anyways-that was my proud moment and wanted to share. (Plus the fact that I schooled the 2 cocky male swimmers in the lane next to me made it that much sweeter:) Good times!

Summer in the Zoo

Every year I like to post some pictures from our trips to the zoo.....this year is no different! Preston and I love the zoo and this year Paxton enjoyed it too. Preston's all time favorite animal is the elephants-thus there is always an "annual" elephant pictures.
Preston had the great idea to put Paxton on his shoulders. The result-Preston loosing an eyeball:)
This picture was at the beginning of summer and Payton's 1st visit to the zoo. I wish I could say she enjoyed it....but truly....she had no idea what was going on.

I am a sucker for pretty flowers-and today was no different. So pretty
Me and my favorite little man. On this day we brought his monkey "harness". Ok people-this is not cruel to keep my kid on a harness-especially when your kid likes to climb the polar bear and black bear exhibits...no joke...Paxton is a climber and is quick. I see rock climbing classes in his future:)
Here they are......running around like crazy-Preston has a good hold of him.

I had a free token to ride the carousel in the zoo. Paxton had never been so I was thinking he would really dig it. I was extremely wrong....he screamed and I had to hold him the entire time-bad idea.

Summer Fun!

A new part of the Cherry Creek Trail that runs behind our neighborhood finally opened up! We walked to this new bridge one morning to check it out~Paxton was excited!
Paxton literally in the Cherry Creek-he just walked right on in-hummm-glad he loves the water....not so glad because he is not a good swimmer yet! Can't take my eyes off this one!
This is the Baby Bjorn that I wear around the house to carry Payton around sometimes. Well-Payton started crying so Paxton thought he would try to be helpful by wearing the Bjorn too! So Funny!
So Payton has not warmed up to the camera yet-she always gets this really worried look on her face.....or maybe she's just irritated with me....either way-I Promise she was smiling right before i took this:)
War wounds! Check out those bandages! I wish they had such cute bandages when I was a kid! Anyways-this was after Payton's first set of shots-and boy did she scream-don't blame her one bit.
We have had a lot of nice afternoon storms lately-and this day Paxton and I were trying to catch rain drops in our mouths-totally his idea!

Payton Z. G's Room

La....la....la....la...laaaaa. I love having a reason to redecorate a room and what could be sweeter than having a little girl! Many of you have been asking if I have finished her room and thought I would post what is up so far. The guest bed is still in her room and will eventually be replaced with a mint green crib....so happy. I thought I would begin the post with a shot of a few of the items up close. Above hanging on a wall is a purple knitted hat with a huge flower, a hot pink tutu (not sure how to spell that) and some ballerina shoes.
A funky beaded lamp on her dresser.
Fabulous curtains....I was really tempted to put these in our living room.....
A colorful fabric covered ottoman......my inner "hippie" coming out.
The ottoman paired with this color enhancing rug.
Butterflies!!! This is a metal wall piece that will be hanging on the wall where the crib will be.
A fun painting I did along with some elephants. Paxton has a string of elephants in his room-so she needed some too!

I finally have uploaded some pics from Feb. and woke up early and decided "I will blog this morning". So-for your viewing pleasure, here is an assortment of pictures of Paxton. Above he is wearing his daddy's Saints hat.
Ok-let me explain-I have a pair of reindeer antlers that Paxton LOVES playing with and wearing. So-I noticed these cute bunny ears (dollar section Target-love it) and thought he might enjoy these as well....I promise...I really am not trying to torture him!
In the words of Paxton "vroom.....vroom!" Paxton now knows what cars are and what noise they make-he loves his buzz light year car.
This picture is just toooooo funny-check out that facial expression. That cabinet that is open is Paxton's play cabinet in our kitchen. While I cook-he pulls everything out and plays with it. His favorite item is my spring baking pans-he will take the ring portion of the pan and place it on and off of him numerous times and thinks it's the best thing ever:)
BUSTED!!!!! yes.....that is him on top of the dishwasher door......

This is one of his playmates, her name is Finely. Paxton is about 3 months older than her and loves her. He is such a sweetheart and loves sharing his toys with her....I think he will be a really sweet big brother....until he becomes a teenager:)
This is one of Paxton's other buddys-his name is Holden. Here they are all geared up in our double stroller-breaking it in. By the looks on their faces-neither one of them was to thrilled by this!

Winter Crafting and a few New Items

This winter I decided to work on some new projects to keep my mind busy! Above is a picture of me working on my headband wraps. These have actually turned out pretty good-so proud of myself!
Last month-I took a knitting class at a local shop and above is what I have created thus far. I must say-this was much more challenging than I expected. I am not really knitting anything right now-just practicing my stitches-who knows-it could turn into a scarf.....maybe...
Here is a few new purchases for Payton's room. A fun beaded lamp, a mirror that I found on clearance that was pretty beat up, so I used some orange paint and looks good and new; and a fun cute purple knitted hat with a big purple, white and green flower-love it!
We needed a new dresser for our room-so we found this little gem. Super affordable and holds lots of goods. Our bedroom is our "no kid zone" so I placed some meaningful items on top of it that we have collected on our travels around the world over the years. Very peaceful:)
Last but not least-these North Face boots were a whopping 75% off at REI!!! Yahoo!!!! These look really cute with leggings or skinny jeans-love them!

Saturday Sunshine: Feb 19th 2011

This weekend the sun has been out and the snow has melted off the roads! Paxton and his buds decided to get out side and do some serious play time! Above Paxton is testing out his new trike and helmet-by his expression-I think he likes it!
Buds-this is Paxton and one of our neighbor-boys Jake-I think these two look like trouble...but really adorable trouble:) Jake is going to show Paxton how to skateboard this summer!
Woot! Woot!!!!! A new item for this summer is our bike trailer! These little babies attach to the back of your bike and off you go! There are a number a trails around our house so we are looking forward to biking to the park and to get ice cream this summer! Now that Paxton is older.....he is becoming more and more fun! Love him and love his Daddy!
I think he like the bike trailer! Sippie cup-check.....Snack cup-check-what more could you want! ! Below is me and the little guy-thought I would post a picture of prego me-here I am at 30 weeks!

Painting and Dancing:)

Things are changing in the Gambo household. We are preparing for the arrival of baby Payton...and this means converting the guest room into her room-sorry folks-looks like it will be hotels or sleeping bags from this point on here in CO. Anyways-above is Preston working his mad painting skills....since his been married to me, his painting skill have improved quite a bit:)
This is just a sample shot of how the room is painted now. We painted is similar to Paxton's room, but instead of using the brown on the bottom....i chose purple! Her room will be purple, green with other fun accents around. More of a bohemian feel to it-but still fun and girlie. I found some amazing curtains at World Market and a fun beaded lamp at Hobby Lobby-can't wait to show you the final pictures! I do plan on doing some sort of whimsical mural for her room-im thinking flowers of some sort. For furniture we will be using Paxton's green crib and along with that green chest in the picture- which was my grandad's-pretty cool. Also, I will be using my dresser I had growing up...which was my great-grandmothers-it's neat that I am able to re-use all these items!

The "BOB"

Double Stroller time. OK-we just spent a FORTUNE on this stroller....and yes ladies....it is a "BOB". For those of you who don't know about the "BOB" it basically does everything but flies....ha...ha....no seriously folks-we found it on clearance-which doesn't mean that much but it does fit through doorways (that's right!) and folds down and fits in the trunk of my car. Yes-eventually we will need to purchase a bigger car but we opted for the $$$$ stroller instead of spending mucho dinero that we don't have on a SUV right now-it was how we reasoned the decision! Big Boy Hair Cut

Check out all that hair!!! Well, about 3 Friday evenings ago I was looking at Paxton's hair and decide I was going to cut it-yes, that's right. My reasoning behind "me" cutting his hair was that I am somewhat artistic so I should be able to accomplish this! Ha.....needless to say-I cut his hair, then Preston had to come in and "fix" it-making it super short! All in all it is really cute-and makes him look quite older. No longer "Baby" Paxton:) Above and below are some "before" shots.

I was taking some random shots of Paxton and I was able to capture this! I checked this picture out and literally cracked up for about 5 minutes. This was the morning that I tried "styling"....yes-a very loose term for this, but I put product in his curls and it turned into to the "Donald Trump" do. Then-his crazy expression just made it perfect-love this kid! What a combo of me and Preston.

Hey guys! Here are a few pictures of our Thanksgiving Holiday. We stayed here in CO and Preston's parents came up for a couple of days. Since I am prego-I protested cooking:)-so I made reservations at this nice Italian Restaurant by our house that does an amazing 5 course meal every year for Thanksgiving! I must say-it was quite delicious and a relaxing day. Above is Paxton ready to eat!

Catching Up!!!!

Sorry I have not posted anything interesting in awhile-I have been a little preoccupied-however here are a few pictures of what we have been up to! Above-getting ready to out out for a date
Taken at the Pepsi Center-Preston and I headed downtown to watch the Avalanche vs Stars (NHL). Out of all of the professional sporting events-Hockey is my favorite to watch at an arena!

First snow here at our house! We bundled up the little buddyne to go sledding with our neighbors little boys! They were really cute! Our neighbor turned his skateboarding ramp into the "hill" to sled down!
This was at Halloween- "Boo at the Zoo". They host this event every year for the little ones and it's a hit! It was too hot for Paxton to wear his costume for long-oh well-he dug it!

This was a HUGE surprise being that Paxton is only 10 months old-yes-say your prayers for me. Anyways-I am currently about 15 weeks along & due at the end of April. I will keep you posted on if this little bundle of joy is going to be a girl or boy!

This past weekend my friend Kristen along with her sister Kimberly headed to Denver to participate in the PF Chang Rock and Roll half marathon! I was signed up with them as well, however I only did half of the half.....because I am prego! Surprise!!!! Anyways-we had a great time and the picture above is at the race expo-we are sporting some Elvis gear:)

This was in downtown Denver at REI. We headed down there just to have some family time together out of the burbs:)
Fall Festival! I met up with one of my girlfriends to take our boys to a local pumkin patch. There was a small petting zoo, corn maze, duck races, face painting & hay rides....for the kids of course...he.eee.....hee....
Paxton loved all the animals, especially the pony-I think he thought it was a giant dog-he was just cracking up!

Fall Festival-Parker CO

One day this week on a whim, I took Paxton and meet one of my friends with her boys at this fall festival located in Parker, CO....which is about 5 min from our house:) Paxton had a great time getting out in the sunshine and having a new experience! Above is a hay stack that is a chicken....or kind of looks like a chicken:)
A section of the festival was a petting zoo. They had baby cows, baby goats, bunnies, ducks and this pony. Paxton LOVES dogs and cracks up every time he see's one...and I think he thought the pony was a giant dog....he loved this!

Paxton has learned how to wave now......being friendly just like his daddy.....or mommy

Cruzin'

Let's all sing along "I love it when where cruzin' together"-the tune sounded pretty good in my head. This is a short post but I wanted to share with you our two best purchases of the summer......the "Del Rey" cruiser by Fuji. These bikes are amazing...they are actually 3 speed and shift automatically!!!! So....if you have not guessed it already-the green bike is mine-surprise, surprise! Oh...and my bike now has a cute little basket on the front-love it!
This black beauty is Prestons bike. I was so surprised at how much Preston LOVES his bike.....i think his all time favorite thing to do as a family right now is going on family bike rides-it's really cute! Plus-we have biking and running trails that run behind our house-so we can bike to the stream or to go and get some ice cream....ha...ha..that rhymed!

Preston and I purchased our little man his first swing!!! We took these pictures last night (Aug. 3rd)...I know...props to me for getting them up so fast! Anyways we hope you enjoy Paxton's new form of entertainment:)
I love taking up close shots of him. However the red light on my camera is bothering him lately-so I need to figure how to turn it off. Here he is....staring at something...or ignoring me:)
Paxton is very observant...seriously-he notices everything....especially his hands-he will spend hours just looking and playing with his hands. Maybe a future jazz musician!!!
ha....ha......such a funny expression. As you can see is a lot of the pictures...he has quite a few of Preston's facial expressions!
This is a classic Preston face....i guess the apple did not fall far from the tree!

Here are some recent pictures that I took of Paxton. Preston and I hit up our favorite local bike shop and purchased some beach cruiser bikes....they are just wonderful-I will take pictures soon-anyways-above it Preston getting Paxton geared up for his first bike ride. Paxton is cracking up in this picture-he did not know what Preston was doing-but thought is was hilarious!
Ha...ha....safety first-now he is looking not so thrilled! Paxton did great-he really love just being outdoors!
I believe this is when I tried to feed him some green beans or peas.....this did not go over so well:)

I am a posting fool as of late! I am going to be out of town here pretty soon and wanted to get up some more recent pictures of our family before I flake out and don't post pictures for another month-ha! In this set of pictures is Preston's first father's day weekend activities. Above is Preston & Paxton enjoying some water time at the Parker, CO pool! I love this picture!
This pool is AMAZING!!! The section behind me if for the little kids and the entry area is a gradual slop-like you on the beach entering the ocean! There are fountains, slides water toys galore..as long as we live in this area-we will be doing this every summer! So much fun...I could live in the water-hopefully Paxton will enjoy it as much as I do in the future!
I just thought this was cute-Paxton after getting out of the pool in his little ducky towel-priceless!
I LOVE DADDY! This was on father's day- Paxton was having a little conversation with his daddy while on the way to church-he loves Preston!
I just noticed that this picture was a bit blurry-sorry! Anyways-this was on Sunday afternoon-Preston was watching the US Open on tv with Paxton....golf on TV......can anything be more BORING than that???? They enjoyed the time together-which is the important thing...i wondered off and did something more exciting:)
"I Pity the Fool".....ha....ha...that is what Paxton is telling me here! Preston and I went to the movies last week and watched the "A-Team" and I remember that my sister and bro-in-law got this cute onesie for Paxton! I pulled it out and it finally fits! yahoo! So cute!!!

Backyard Bliss!

The summertime is by far my favorite season...except for spring, fall and winter...ha....ha. Anyways-this summer Preston and I purchased a swing and my hand husband built the frame for it! I of course painted it a bright color and strung lights on it-I don't mean to gush-but it's quite fabulous. This is where we are every night-relaxing and having a glass of wine! On the sides of the swing are a few of my flowers I planted....that are still alive-it's seriously a miracle!

Another shot of the yard.....so lush and pretty! We purchased our little umbrella from Lowes (it's really sturdy) and on the right hand side of the picture-you will see Paxton's baby Hippo pool-really funny!
This is around the tree in the front of the house. I love my flamingo-Preston created this master piece as well...and I planted the flowers!
Yahoo-.....more flowers that are still alive! I have no idea what I am doing right....but it's working!

I am attempting to stay on top of posting new pictures for your viewing pleasure-so here are some of the latest pictures of our little family. Above (yes-i did not rotate the picture-oops) check out Paxton's outfit-it really cracks me up! It's a Cat in the Hat onesie.....and his head is the "cat" portion...ha...ha...I don't know why I think this is so funny-but it is:)
We're going to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you.....The Gambordellas are now members of the Denver Zoo! Which means we get some killer deals and if you come visit us- you can get into the zoo for free....oh ya....
In the zoo-Preston's favorite zoo animal are the elephants.....here he was telling Paxton all about them-so cute
Over Memorial Day weekend-Preston and I went to Boulder and ran in the Boulder Bolder 10k! There were over 54,000 participants......yes-that is a lot of sweaty people running around....and this race is claimed to be the best 10k in the states.....who decided that actually-i have no idea:)
Paxton at almost 6 mths!!!! Such a big boy! Sitting up in his bumbo good-eating some new yummy food-it's funny! I am really happy he is out of the "bobble-head baby stage" this is just more fun and I don't feel like he is just going to flop over and hurt himself.
Everywhere I take Paxton-people always comment on how much he smiles! You can just look at him and he will smile-the above picture is his constant expression.....except when he is hungry....now that is a entirely different subject-
He is the best-how could you not love an adorable face like that:) Below is a video we filmed yesterday of Paxton having his first bits of applesauce-hopefully it will load correctly on here!

Family Vacation: Carbondal, Glenwood Springs & Aspen

We took our first family vacation in May and head west to the mountains. Preston and I wanted a low-key vacation and to explore areas in CO that we had not been to yet. We rented a condo in Cardondale CO. Carbondale sits right between Aspen & Glenwood Springs. The perfect location for what we wanted to do and see. This is the view from the balcony of the condo we rented-you are looking at Mt. Sopris! So pretty
The first day we arrived it was raining......but it was so pretty as seen above! I took this picture near where we stayed.
Cheese! Driving out to Carbondal-we took a pit stop in Georgetown, CO (this is about 1 1/2 from Denver). If you are ever driving west on I-70 and need a nice place to stop-take advantage of the rest area in Georgetown-very nice!
The next stop we made along on the drive is Vail CO. Preston and I were both very hungry so we stopped in at this cute little restaurant. As a side note-Paxton has on his 2nd outfit of the day.....just moments before this picture was taken-he had a leaky diaper and it soaked Preston's shirt in the restaurant.....heee.....heeee
Do these two look offical or what?????? Ready to hit the mountains??? Almost-here Preston is testing out the hiking pack for Paxton. We were hoping to use it on the trip-however Paxton is still just a bit to tiny-almost.

I know I am bias.....but this is the best picture ever! I love our little outdoors man!
Glenwood Springs, CO put it's name on the map with the largest natural hot spring in North America (atleast that is what the tourist brochure says:) Anyways-we went and we conquered. Paxton had his first "open water" experience and did quite well I must say. Check out the picture-if you are familiar with hot springs....you know this is huge!!

Mother's Day-2010

Yahoo! I have finally posted some new pictures! I am way behind but thought I would just begin fresh with May. We just returned from our 1st family mini-vacation-so pictures are soon to come. The pictures posted are all from Mother's day this year. I wanted to do NOTHING for mother's day but relax with my boys and grill-so that is exactly what we did. The pictures we took are right before we went on a family walk.
Don't you just want to eat him up!!!!! AHHHHH-he is sooooo stinkin cute-well I think so anyways:) I got his little t-shirt and hat from Old Navy-so fitting i think! Paxton is about 4 1/2 months old in these pictures!

To all of our blog fans (I think there are 3 of you-seriously-ha) I want to apologize for not updating photos in about a month! It's been pretty busy- in the middle of April Paxton and I spent a week in Clovis, NM visiting my family then a week after that one of my best friends came to visit for a week with her son Calvin. All that to say-I just have not had time to post. The entire family is sick this week-(Paxton has an ear infection and Preston and I both have sinus infections) so-since I am inside and can't stand to watch anymore HGTV I thought I would take the opportunity to update this fabulous page...ha...ha....Hope all is well with each of you and enjoy! much love~paty

Birthday and Easter!

Happy Happy Easter everyone! Preston and I had our first Easter celebration with our little Paxton! We managed to get up-get dressed and actually make it to church ON TIME! I know-we were really proud of our accomplishment! Above is a cute family photo!
AHHHHH...i love this-Paxton is rockin a little Ralph Lauren outfit compliments of one of my buddies...(I believe Amanda) that her son had at one time! He looked like such a little man in his white shirt and cute little pants.

I really laughed at this picture. If you watch the TV series "Modern Family" I felt like this is the scene where the dramatic dad comes out with his newly adopted daughter playing the song from the Lion King-presenting the baby to the people! ha...ha....ha.....-so funny to me-anyways-its a cute picture!
Ok-I had to take this picture because it's totally Tom Cruises scene from "Risky Business"-when he comes sliding across the floor in his socks, whitey tighties and long sleeve button down white shirt-ha....ha....I'm glad I can make myself laugh!
Next up-Preston celebrated his whopping 30th birthday on March 27! Happy happy happy birthday!
For Preston's birthday weekend, I had planned multiple surprises! Come on-it was his 30th b-day so we had to do something special! On Friday-I went nuts and decorate the house for him in strimers, balloons, confeti and posters! Then-on Saturday I coordinated with his mom to come up and watch paxton while we went downtown to eat, attend a concert and stay the night! It was all a surprise and he loved it!
Here we are at the Pepsi center in Denver- we went and watch the Black Eyed Peas and Ludacris opened for them-it was wonderful......really nice to get out on the town!
hum-when i uploaded this picture I thought it was something else and now I am just to lazy to delete it-so here you go. I originally was uploading a picture of Ludacris-oh well:) Ok-and i just skipped to the picture that was below this and deleted it! I decided to post some additional pictures for the fam to view that did not make it on his baby announcement. These all were taken during the "Paty & Paxton" photo shoot (aka...me taking pictures of Paxton while laying on our bed!).
What a sweet little face-I really like this picture because his eyes just look like crystal clear blue water. As of today he still has blue eyes like his dad & mom.....but who know-they could change!
This is crazy, crossed-eyed, platypus baby.....ha...ha... I think I caught being startled by something and this was the expression that I captured! Paxton sometimes does not even look like the same kid in some of his pictures just because his facial expressions are so drastic...gets that from his dad:)
Awe...and yes.....the "I'm a little man" grinning picture-see what I mean-he looks completely different compared to the picture above!

First Weekend in March-Katy and Mark Visit!

Ok-so since I have been giving Preston and hard time about wearing the "floral sling" to carry Paxton around in-our new sister-in-law mailed us her Baby Bjorn to borrow and Preston loves it! Here he is sporting his new baby carrier!
Paxton: "Mom, I really hate it that you dress me up in these outfits and then take my picture over and over again-it's so embarrassing!" (yes...i do make up a voice for Paxton imagining what he is thinking.....i also have a doggy voice for Dudley!)

Snow...snow.....and more snow. Preston decided to take advantage of our pretty backyard to snap a few pictures of Paxton and I yesterday before we headed out for church. This was Paxton's 1st attempt to sit through a service....and woke up when the praise and worship team jammed out on the electric guitars. Needless to say-Paxton did not go back to sleep and we had to leave the service early because he was fussing....yes....we are that couple now-Anyways-he is a sleeping angel in this picture.
Cheese-I managed to put some makeup on, so this called for a picture. Paxton in his cute little beanie wondering why I have him out in the cold.
I thought this looked funny-like I am holding a prop or something! I was just trying to maintain my balance so I would not slip and fall on my booty.
The last picture....yes, I know your excited. Hum....I'm really tired here-and most days lately, but trying to hang in there. Preston is a great help and we are learning just to take one day at a time. Dudley feels ignored, but loves us anyways. What would the world be without pets.....who love you regardless:)

Some February Fun!

Awe.....yes it was Valentines day yesterday and my sweet hubby got me a special treat! 1 dozen chocolate covered strawberries arranged to look like roses (have to love Edible Arrangements!). I had these strawberries at my baby shower and LOVED them....so this was a nice surprise!
For those of you wondering if Dudley has been left on the back burner due to Paxton's arrival......what do you think???? Under the covers....snuggling with Preston....must be nice:)

Paxton received his 1st invitation to a birthday party.....I know-.....i thought it called for a picture, i mean-this is a big occasion! Anyways-here I am being dramatic holding up the gift, invitation and toting the little on in my sling-good times-so many 1sts!

Ok....I had one reason for posting this picture......exibit A: Preston wearing the sling. Folks-so would you agree that the slings are more for the ladies to wear....especially if the material is all floral? I have tried to explain this to Preston numerous times that it is NOT COOL for him to be wear this. Some of you might be thinking "well, around the house is ok"....but he is not ONLY wearing this around the house.....he is wearing it out in public as well!!!!!! Preston just tells me "I don't care...Im secure with my manhood" which is awesome-but this is a major fashion citation-help:) Next it will be socks with flip flops on:(

I understand that I am bias........but how adorable is this picture!!! Oh my goodness-if this does not melt your heart you are a weirdo!!! This is me and my dad with the little one. In my baby pictures I looked a lot like my dad and Paxton looks a lot like my baby pictures. The line of the O'Briant's good looks lives on-ha!
These two just love each other so much. They both like to snuggle, sleep and snore!

Here are the proud and mature parents of Paxton! Becoming a daddy has really helped Preston to become more serious......can't you tell???? HA!!!! This was picture was from Jan 15-before Preston and I went out on a date-yahoo!
The little man himself at 4 weeks of life! I can't believe how much he has grown. He is now fitting into his "newborn" clothes!

Last week we were all at home and I was finally up for going on a little walk in our neighborhood. This was the 1st offical "Gambordella Family Walk". Even little Dudley got to come!
No-I did not go overboard bundling him up! All you people who live in warmer places stop giving me crap-remember we do live in Colorado where is does snow and get cold! I believe when this picture was taken it was only 15 degrees outside-so yes-his bundling does need to be extreme!

We have many family members who are not on facebook that want to view pictures of our little stud muffin. The big brother-ready to play. Dudley got multiple gifts this Christmas and has destroyed all but 2! That is pretty darn good!

Cute little Paxton. His aunt Katy and uncle Marky purchased this super cute top for him. He was born to rock!!!! The beanie I got at my baby shower but you can pick one up at Target if you so desire.
The boys all made each other tired and now it is time for a nap. Dudley has been doing really good with Paxton's arrival. As long as we play with him some (Dudley) he is happy as a lark!
At my doctors appointment with Paxton-10 days after his birth. Yes-I am tired and needing a shower in this picture-but I managed to get dressed so that should count for something!
My doctor and the doctor that delivered little Paxton- Dr. Hope Cassel. She did a great job and glad she was my doc!
This is just a cute picture of the little man. Paxton has a new appreciation of his hands and fingers. He loves waving them around and has even discovered sucking on his thumb when he is hungry-smarty pants.

Paxton's 1st Christmas

Paxton had a big day today-full of sleeping, eating and pooping. On the other hand-Preston and I enjoyed our day with our little Christmas surprise. The hospital sent us home with this cute stocking to place the babies in-sweet.
Out like a light-no complaints from me!

Look at that cute little pudgy face..hee....hee... Paxton arrived on Friday, December 18th at 1:17pm. I went in for my 38 week appointment and my doctor sent us straight to the hospital for a C-section. Paxton was breach and his umbilical cord was located right under his feet. I was in labor (did not know it) and my doctor was afraid if my water broke Paxton's umbilical cord would have come out 1st cutting off his life line. So-we arrived at the hospital at 11:30pm (she would not even let us go home to get our bags) and he was out by 1:17pm. Thankfully he was healthy and safe-thank goodness for doctors and God's grace.
Paxton only a few hours old. He weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 19 inches long.
The happy family. I took one for the team and decided to post this picture even though this is horrible of me-i think i have a pretty good excuse! Preston is just beaming in this picture-love him!

I love to paint and recently I began painting abstract paintings of dogs. The pictures I paint are of actual dogs of my family or friends. I have the owners give me a favorite picture of their pet and I sketch it out and then work my magic on the canvas. So fun and colorful....and if you consider your dog a member of the family like I consider mine....it's a great keepsake item. Above is a painting of my friends dog, Sierra-I really liked how this turned out!
When I look at this painting-it makes me smile because that is exactly the personality of this dog in real life. This is my sister & brother-in-laws dog Bear. Such a sweet-heart!
And finally-the dog who got this whole process started-my own dog- Dudley. Oh how I love him!

Putting Up the Tree

The day after Thanksgiving Preston assisted me in decorating the Christmas tree and getting out all the decorations!!! I love it.......Preston puts up with it because he loves me! Anyways-Preston is placing the star on our sturdy little tree (it's moved with us a lot!) After he did this task-he was a trooper and placed our lights outside on our house-what a good man!
Tah-dah!!! Nothing super fancy-but it's cute and colorful-just how I like it!
This picture was taken on Thanksgiving day. Yes-I'm in a sun dress and Preston was in shorts-it was sooooo warm! We went to our friends house for an afternoon meal. Very relaxing and I did not have to cook!

Katy Visits!!! 11-20-09 (New Moon Movie & Hang Out Time!)

Yahoo! Katy was able to come for a short visit at the end of November!!!! We secretly picked out this weekend because we thought it would be fun to go to the New Moon movie together along with some other friends! Yes-it was our motive and we had a great time! Always up for an excused to see my sister!

Katy and I in downtown Denver by the Platt River. We are behind the REI store where we finished some serious shopping. Katy wa happy to experience the "Flagship" REI store in the area-it's massive and the building it's in is in the old train station-very cool!
We went to a really cute baby boutique-that is not your usual baby store. It's call "Rock the Craddle" and has really cute and edgy baby gear. Above Katy created three stylish onesies for her newphew. From right to left: Rocky sign onesie, Mr. T onesie, & skull and cross bones onesies! They are soooo cute!!! Thank you Aunt Katy & Uncle Marky- Paxton will be stylin!
Saturday night we decided to check out a Nuggets game: Denver vs. Chicago Bulls. It was a good game-Katy and I had fun people watching and yelling at the officials bad calls!

Baby Room Pictures- Finished Project!!!!

Tah-Dah!!!! Well Paxton's room is finally complete! Everything is in it's place (I think)-clothes & blankets are washed and life is good! I only am missing some fun lights Im going to hang around the room-hope you enjoy!
Yes-it's a rug that mathes the bedding-I know-this is amazing stuff! Ha!
When you walk into the room from the hallway-this is the view you see! I have a wood carving on the wall of elephants and the quilt on the chair was made by Preston's mom-very cool.
On the other side of the room is Paxton's dresser and some storage items.

End of October in the Mountains

Preston and I wanted to head out of the city and escape to the mountains for a relaxing Saturday-just the 2 of us! We headed to Evergreen, CO which is only about 35 mins from our house. Above are two cute little deer that we met along the way!
Here I am posing on the dock in Evergreen. In a month or so-this lake will be frozen and people will be out ice skating on it. Quite the quaint little mountain scene I must say for the holidays!
Look at all the ducks! Notice they all started swimming to where we were in hopes of food....and we had none-I know, the disappointment!
Trying to get a shot to the 2 of us. There were no people around so we decided to use the timer on our camera along with a picnic table to get the shot. It turned out pretty well!

Baby Room Pictures- Part #2

As time moves on....we are getting closer to expecting our little baby boy. Preston and I have both been working hard re-painting the crib and rocking chair and finished! So-it was time to assemble the crib. Preston worked hard on this pose for the picture!

Here I am trying to help. My job was to stand there and hold the board-tough work but someone had to do it. Preston secretly gave me this job to keep him out of his hair....I know the man to well!
Tah-Dah!!!! Here is the crib with the baby bedding on it! Please excuse the paint cans on the floor. We still have a lot to do-however it felt good to get the bed together!

Race for the Cure-Denver 09-Breast Cancer Fundraiser

On Sunday, October 4th was Race for the Cure in Denver CO!!! This is the 3rd year we have participated in the race in Denver. This year I was not sure how the numbers would be as far as participation goes-however, the community did not disappoint! Denver had around 70,000 runners and walkers!!!! So amazing-way to "Save the Boobs" Denver! (above-Preston and I are on the train headed downtown!)
This is just a small view of all the participants! It was nuts! This year we were with the walkers...being that I do not feel like running right now with the little one in my belly......and it was a different experience. Due to the numbers it took quite awhile to complete.
On the exit ramp. If you look behind us you can see all the people making their way up the ramp.
After the race...by the toliets...man I had to pee! Here I am trying to show off my belly.....the baggy clothes do not help-he is really in there-I promise!

Baby Room Pictures- Part #1

Well-as most people know- I love to paint and my personal decorating taste is.....colorful. So of course-the baby's room should be no different. Above is the room taking shape. Last weekend we had 2 friends of ours come over and help Preston paint the entire room 1/2 cream....1/2 chocolate brown. (Sally and Ricardo you did a great job!). Lucky for me-Ricardo is also a WONDERFUL & fearless artist who copied the picture I sketched out on paper-onto the wall with pencil-just drew the tree in one shot- i know-he is very talented. Then-I did the painting on the tree and made it colorful!!!! Preston even had an artistic contribution in this-it was his idea to extended the tree on the ceiling-i know-Preston is very talented as well! Below are the final pictures of the tree~~~~
This is the entire length of the wall-the tree is a burnt orange!
Top 1/2 of the tree! The furniture matches the mint green color in the picture and the bedding has whimsicle elephants on it for kinda of a fun nature/earthy room. Yeah.....and it looks even better in person-so come and see!!!!

Oahu Picture 8/09: Baby Moon: Part #3

Here is the finally set of our pictures from Oahu. One day went down to Diamond Head "mountain"....whatever...hee...hee...to hike it. This in the past was used as a look out for incoming ships. At the top of the hike you have a beautiful view of Wakiki & Honolulu.
Whew.....we made it!!!! The view was awesome and the breeze was even better-it was hot! I was really proud of myself for making it to the top. I don't have quite the zest I usually have being prego!
Pretty view of the coast as we drive along the scenic highway. Preston went on a little adventure and hiked down to the water....when he came back-he was soaked-it was pretty funny. A wave jumped up and splashed him!
Another day-we went to a nearby town and went sea kayaking! Well I should say Preston did most of the paddling but we had a great time. We paddled to 2 nearby islands and saw sea turtles swimming in the ocean-very cool!!!

This was the morning we had to fly back home! I dragged Preston to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. We needed something to do and going to the beach was out of the questions-we were both REALLY sunburned! This was neat to see-but full of tourist!
At the plantation.....on the "Pineapple Express" train...ha....ha....This was just so exciting let me tell you. Preston and I laughed the entire time....it was cheesy-but we had fun!

Ok-we are back with more pictures from our vacation (hope the family is enjoying this!). Above was taken in the town of Haleiwa outside the Surf n Sea shop. This was a lovely morning full of eating breakfast, looking at shops and checking out surfing lessons.
I LOVE this bay!!! This is Waimia Bay which is located about 15 mins up the coast from the town of Haleiwa! The bay in the summer time is quite calm-but just like the beaches on the north shore-winter time is a entire different story when surfing turns into the popular sport.
Sitting on the beach of Waimia Bay!!! We both had on our 50 proof shirts and glad we did-what a great investment-especially for my pasty white husband!
I decided to post this picture because I was far enough away...heee...heeee. This again was taking in Waimia Bay. While we were at the bay-the lifeguard called everyone in to the shore because a school of dolphins had swam into the bay!!! I know!!!! The dolphins use the bay to rest and to nurse their young! It was so neat-we could see them out in the water-playing and jumping around and we were not even in Sea World!!! So cool!!!
Ok-on the north shore it's a MUST that you go to Matsumoto's located in Haleiwa to get their famous shaved ice!!! Above is us getting ready to chow down. The snow cone was good-however it had NOTHING on the snow balls you can get in New Orleans....ahhh...the memories of stuffed snow balls on a hot humid day in NOLA-yummy!

Preston and I are expecting a baby boy on Jan. 1st- so we decided to take one nice getaway-just the 2 of us! We were on the North shore of Hawaii for about a week just relaxing and enjoying our time together. The picture above is from the balcony of our condo we rented-not a bad view at all!
Ok-so these pictures are in no particular order-this is in the parking lot of the complex-me walking to get in picture posing position.

Every morning we would wake up hearing the crashing waves with the bright light of the sun rising. Preston would brew us some delicious Kona coffee and we would sit on the balcony sipping some coffee just enjoying the morning-ahhhhh so nice. Don't knock my outfit above-those are my pj's!

Cheese-after the long travel day from Denver to Honolulu-we held up pretty well. On the plane ride from LA to Honolulu-Preston felt our baby kick for the 1st time-kinda neat!

Bullen Family Visits

I'm back!!! Yes-finally posting pictures again-sorry for the delay. Anyways-in mid July, one of my best friends since 3rd grade (I know-isn't that crazy!) visited with her beautiful family for a couple of days! Above is Amanda and me! I think over the years we have taken a 1000 pictures like this!
Awe yes-here are the men.....in the kitchen of course..heeee..heee... Above is Amanda's husband Matt and her almost 4 yr old son Kade! I must say Kade had a great time chasing Dudley around.
Here are the girls- Amanda with her daughter Tayley who is 1 1/2 old! We were getting ready to devour the chips and salsa on the table.

Saturday in the Mountains: Guanella Pass

Last weekend Preston and I just need to get out of the city and head some place peaceful. We heard Guanella Pass was a pretty area to head to so off we went into the mountains. Above is us sitting by the river soaking in some sunshine and fresh area. It reminded us of the summer we met-and the many drives we took to Pecos, NM along the river.
I thought this was really beautiful. Around the bend and bam-here was this pretty picture.
We also were staking out places to go camping in this area. I believe we found a few good spots right along the river-it should be nice and relaxing. Now-we have to block out a weekend to go!

Yahoo!!! Ok-so the group No Doubt hooked up again and is currently on tour! Lucky for us-one of the venues they played was in our hood-seriously like 6 miles away from where we live-and of course I love No Doubts music-instantly takes me back to high school-above we are in the car to meet up with some friends for a pre-concert BBQ in the parking lot!
This is our buddy Josh- the grilling master for the pre-concert BBQ. We had dogs & brats with other sides. A good time to hang out and chill after a long day of work!
This is my bud Kelly (Josh's better half-ha) posing of a super cute picture. If you look close-Kelly is wearing a No Doubt concert tour t-shirt from 1997!!! I know- she was so proud she still had it-i told her that was some quality cotton!

Inside the venue (Fiddlers Green) We went cheap and had "lawn seating". Take some blankets-find a nice patch of grass and you are good to go!

The opening group was Paramore. They were pretty good-the only other time I had really listened to them was on the MTV music awards when they performed. The larger group of 19 year old girls sitting next to us LOVED them- Preston was soooo excited to be sitting next to them...heee...hee
And finally- NO DOUBT!!!! They were awesome-great energy and that Gwen- she is such a powerful performer-with killer legs!!!! I would recommend going to anyone!

Memorial Day Weekend!!

I woke up one morning-still half asleep-looked out the window and saw Preston exactly as you see him here: Smoking a cigar (at 9am) and carrying around a BB gun- and you no what-it didn't even phase me-ha! For those of you who don't know-Preston grew up in the woods of Louisiana and needless to say-some things just never change. I must admit-this did make me laugh pretty hard! What a patriotic man on this memorial day weekend!
Taking some time to take a picture before a family BBQ. It was really nice visiting both sides of the family! Good times had by all-plus super yummy eating!
After the BBQ a few family members wanted to head to the golf course-so my mom and I taged along as well and actually player. I was AWFUL- but everyone else did well. I blame playing awful on being a lefty and never really playing at all- excuses excuses! Above is Preston Teeing off-future reference-do not take pictures of someone teeing off---oooops!
Here are the babes in the golf cart! The guys walked and mom and I decided to have our fun in the cart! My mom put the pedal to the metal-I never remembered her doing that growing up! It was fun!!!
Ok-last but not least-back to the BBQ. So me and the cousins (above) were sitting around kinda bored when once again-my brilliant husband came through! He invented a game-he found a empty coke bottle and placed it on a tree. This was our target- and the BB shooting began-it was actually pretty funny. Luckily no dogs or trees were injured during this game!

Rock Cimbing 101

Our church has an outdoor ministry (very fitting for Colorado) called ROM that teaches any individual a number of different outdoor activites. Currently the church offers Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, and Ice Climbing. All the leaders have years of experience in their sport and hope to share Christ's Love in the the outdoor. This particular class we took is Rock Climbing 101. Above is where we hiked to practice some techniques.

So I apologize for being a bit behind and boring with my posts! I will have some better pictures to post soon. This was the snow storm that took place at the end of April! I did not mind at because my office closed early-yeah! This is typical for Colorado-it snowed and 3 days later is was in the 70's. Dress in layers people-layers!
Snow build up on the fence-we received 8 inches in 3 hours-geez!

Ladies Weekend-Mom's 60th!!!

This past weekend my mom, sister and I all met up in Denver, CO to celebrate my mom's 60th Birthday! I know! We kicked all the boys out of the house and had a weekend just to ourselves (which never happens!) It was a very special weekend filled with mountain fun, mansions, good eating, baseball games and Easter. This equals a very good time in my book. Above is mom and her b-day cake which my sister and I made. My nanny (mom's-mom) was known for making the world's best German Chocolate Cake-so we stayed up late and slaved away! She really enjoyed it!
The girls-headed out to Evergreen, CO for some eating, shopping, dinos, and red rocks! Here we are pausing at a creek to take some pictures!
Mom and Katy at Beau Jo's pizza (the best colorado pizza in the world!) We shared some pizza, drinks and most of all laughs!
Posing out at the creek-yes, that is still snow on the ground-welcome to Colorado baby! Luckily-Denver is a toasty-and not near as cold as the mountains!
This picture was taken out at Red Rocks Theater. This is an outdoor venue that hosts some amazing concerts in this natural setting. If you have the chance to go-take advantage of it!

Preston's 29th Birthday!!!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBINO! Preston turned the big 29 on March 27th! Such a stud he is! He had to work....some on his b-day (thanks to the spring blizzard we had here in the metro area-he did not have to work all day-yahoo!) but he enjoyed hanging out with his buds and going to dinner with me! What more could a guy ask for?-ha!
Preston typically has a strawberry cake with strawberry icing for his b-day, but this year he went with cupcakes! He did have strawberry icing cupcakes-but by the time I got the camera out to take the picture-the strawberry cupcakes were gone! So-here are the vanilla leftovers-which I prefer!
This is the day after his b-day. Here in the Gambordella household-we tend to drag special events out. Birthdays usually last a couple of days-the day before your b-day-the day of and the day after-we really enjoy having a reason to celebrate!!! Today we were headed out to hang out and get a cup of coffee together!
Me-trying to be cool-I forget I'm not 20 anymore-yikes-where does time go!
I really love this picture of Preston and his cute shades- he looks as if he should have been starring in the movie "Top Gun"....oh yes ladies---you remember the classic volleyball scene---maybe that is what sparked my interest in volleyball!

Above is after I blew out my candles. Now I realize I look a little ruff-(27 hit me hard I guess-just kiding I like being 27 better than 26 because it's an odd number!) But I took the day off and did nothing-just lounged around in my pj's all day! Yea for me!

Well it's that time of year again........Mardi Gras time!!! Since my honey is not close to home to delight in all the tasty treats during Mardi Gras-I searched far and wide for a bakery in the Denver area that made the traditional "KING CAKE" for Mardi Gras. And you guessed it-I located a wonderful bakery up in Arvada, CO (north denver) that made cakes! So after church on Sunday we headed up and purchased this wonderful KING CAKE stuffed with cream cheese (our fav). Preston was very excited-it is not like the cakes in Louisiana but better than nothing! To all our buds in NOLA- we miss you guys and catch some beads for us!!!

Crafty Time!!!!

For those of you who know me well, you might find it quite hilarious that I now have my very own sewing machine!!!! I know!!!! Here is my reasoning for this new adventure, I have a unique taste and finding items such as pillows, purses, window treatments are hard for me to find. If I do find something I enjoy-it's typically VERY exspensive-so I did the next logical thing and decided to make an investment purchase! So here it is- my Baby Lock sewing machine that has a 25 yr waranty-yes, i should get my money back for this investment!!!
This is my very 1st pattern i have purchased- funky aprons!!! I bought myself an apron last year from William Sonoma and it was freakin exspensive-so......here is to my crafty adventures!
A cute little pillow i put together------i still need to finish stuffing it and sew up the edge.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science

RARRR! RAAARRRRRR! RAAARRRRRR! (T-Rex saying What's up) Saturday we went to the Denver Museum and of Nature and Science for a cultural outing with some friends of ours! If you have seen the movie "Night at the Museum" with Ben Stiller...the museum was like that...without all the animals and people coming alive!

Preston looking either board, confused or slighty brain dead at the museum. I like to think he was so overcome with excitement that he lost control of all facial movements. Heee....heee...
My pretty friend Laurie and her husband Josh. Laurie is a interior designer and Josh is a web-designer...very cool. Laurie could have easily tried out for the show "America's Next Top Model"!

OOPS! What Happened

Hum...you might be wondering what is on my foot....and what happened...humm....
Well I found out 2 wks ago that I broke my LEG...yup-my leg at the end of September...I know. Here is why I didn't know it was broken- 1) I'm a stud and tuff as nails-at least that is what my dad tells me 2) My initial pain and current pain was in my ankle- so when I had it checked on in October- the doctors found no problems in my ankle and released me. So- 2 weeks ago-my leg was still hurting and it had been 2 1/2 months-so I decided to go to a different doctor. By this time I had run in a 5k and was still running 20 miles a week- I know!!! So- the doctor reviewed my leg and said- there is a noticeable bump on the outside of your leg and then pushed on it and asked if it was sore- it was sore, but not unbearable. He then told me he thought I had a broken leg...did some x-rays and sure enough- me leg was broken! Crazy- just felt the pain in my ankle. Currently I have been in the boot 2 wks and have 4 more to go.....hope I can do it!!!

NHL Virgins!!!

Preston and I have never been to a professional hockey game and we went to our first this past weekend!!! The Coloradao Avalanche or the AVS play here in Denver at the Pepsi Center (the stadium that the NBA Nuggets, Arena Football and Professional Lacrosse play in as well). For our first game we went with Preston's Brother, Andy and his girl friend Rebecca. They came to visit us from Lafayette, LA.
The AVS warming up and getting ready for the introductions! This game they were playing the Penguins! Quack...Quack....
Preston and I were amazed at the floor. We have seen many basketball games here and were wondering how they did the actual hockey floor. Im assuming the Pepsi center has an electronic 2nd floor that rolls out-then it's iced.....but it was quite interesting. There were a few good "fights" in the game! It's a good thing I never played hockey growning up bc I think I would have really enjoyed it! You are fully padded and can ram the opposing team into the glass-..hee..hee that would be fun!

This year we celebrated New Year's Eve at a friends house in Golden, CO. The night was pretty mellow and we all got home safe and sound! I decide to wear my fun red shirt to the party...I was a bit over dress but felt quite festive!
The crew out back with sparklers! Note to self- sparkler in a dry area like Colorado or (New Mexico) are not a good idea especially if it's windy!!! Yikes!- Just a few patches of "grass" caught on fire-but our manly men acted quickly.

Christmas in Flagstaff!

Presents from Daddy and Barbara!!!!!

This year for Christmas my family is all over the world....literally-so we all got creative in delivering presents!!! Daddy and Barbara mailed our presents to us in CO and since we are flying to AZ on Chrismtas Eve....this meant we opened presents on the 23rd-no objections here!!! Here I am by the tree with one of the boxes mailed-I am excited!!!

Opening the first box...oh and what to we have here...hum......wait a second....it's a Food Processor!!!! I have wanted one of these forever!!! I am so exicted and can't wait to see what yummy treats I can create. The first thing that comes to mind is SALSA!!! Thanks sooo much!

Holiday Treats!!!!! Yummy

Preston and I one night were craving rice crispy treats!!! Since it's the Christmas season we thought we would utilize the food coloring we had and make a delicious holiday treat....and no, we do not have kids....we are just kids ourselves!!! Preston melting the marshmellows!!
The marshmellows are melted and now I am adding the perfect amount of food coloring.....it's looking good. The real challenge is not to eat the goey marshmellows- sooooo good!
We added in the rice crispy- and placed the mixture in the pan-now just adding a few festive red sprinkles!!!
Taaaa Dahhhhh...the master piece is completed! I know this is really exciting and all, but this is just a typical night in the Gambordella house hold!!

Denver Nuggets vs Houston Rockets

Here we are in the Pepsi Center viewing the Nuggets playing the Rockets. We had some friends at the last minute give us free tickets...that is right...free...and we enjoyed a nice night out on the town watching some b-ball. Nuggets won this night...oh yea!
Right before tip off- we are at the very top level-and as you can see the seats are still not that bad.
Ok, I was really excited because I have never seen Yao play b-ball before, and there he is warming up. He is down low right outside the paint...the guy who looks REALLY tall-yup, that is Yao! I just like saying his name...hee..heee. I must say- I believe the change in altitude did effect him- he did not run or play much the second half~~~you have to love the mile high city!

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!!!

If you are concerned that this was something Preston had in his closet-do not fret-it is not. My mom was a 1st grade teacher for tooooo many years and has quite a classic collections of "bad Christmas sweaters". A group of friends decided to have a Christmas party with the theme of honoring these priceless classics....heee...hee. Above is Preston sporting this sweater my mom mailed us- she was a good sport about this!
The sweater I am wearing in this picture is another Christmas classic that my mom mailed. However, she included a picture in the box that showed my sister wearing this beauty when she was in junior high! I know-so hilarious! We had a good time with it.
I thought I would include a picture of our friends...just to prove that we did not make up this wonderful event- it's always good to have friends who do not take themselves to seriously!!!

Putting up the Stockings and Tree!

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a dog giving you attitude while having his picture taking wearing antlers~~~~I LOVE DUDLEY!!!! so funny~~~
Yea!!! It's Christmas and the perfect time of year to put up more crap (as Preston would say!) ha! I actually love all the decorations and enjoy the change. Above is our little stockings we have. I just made a stocking for Dudley-so he has one now as well!
I was so excited- I found a Christmas Tree skirt that I actual like at Hobby Lobby and here I am placing it around the tree for the first time- I know- this is really exciting stuff~~~

The final decoration on the tree- the star! Our tree is really little and simple but it means so much to us. This is the tree we purchased post-Katrina~~~~we did not have much to spend at the time- but this tree was so special and beautiful to us- it represented a new beginning, quite appropriate for Christmas I believe!

Thanksgiving 2008: Woodland Park, CO

This year for Thanksgiving we headed to Woodland Park, CO to celebrate the holiday with Preston's parents and extended family. Woodland Park is about 1. 5 hours southwest of Denver. It was a beautiful day that ended with snow! Above is the crew on the sofa!

The boys (Nathan and Jeremy) had a tradition every year of building a ginger bread house on Thanksgiving day. I decided to volunteer and help them to create this master piece! Above is me making a pouty face with Jeremy (who is sitting in my lap). He was un-happy about not being able to eat the candy that goes on the house...heee...heee...tough concept for a 2 yr old!
Me tackling Preston while he was stirring the gravy- he did a fantastic job- go honey!!! It was a lovely holiday break with good company and great grub!

Late Post from the Zoo

Ok-so I am slacking with uploading new pictures onto the computer-so you will get some pictures from the fall that I am just now posting!!!! P and I headed to the zoo in September and had a chance to see some old friends. I LOVE the zoo and could hang out there on a daily basis. Above is a new born giraffe and he was sooooo precious!
Preston and his favorite animal-the elephant. The zoo had two elephants out and they were both old-15 and 17 years old. They walked around and the held "hands" by one holding onto the others tail with a trunk-to sweet!

Yes- that is a huge gorilla just chillin at the window eating a banana. In one way it was really neat to see a gorilla that close-but it also made me sad that he was so mellow.
At the zoo with the map-----yes, Preston had to take a picture of this because I am not good with maps at all- I am pondering if we should go see the monkeys or the polar bears-the monkeys won!

Halloween: The Republican Ticket

Well, I wish I could say that we dress up as characters on a regular basis, and those of you who know us well might expect that-but the truth is we never dress up. However, this halloween we got in spirit and went to a party.....as the republican ticket. Yes-this is not a mirror of our political views...but it was a couple costume choice that was cheap and easy to do. We each had suits and the only items we had to purchase was a wig and white hair spray. We had fun acting like the running mates (especially playing Sarah Palin) and were even caught making out a couple of times-ha-that confused people!
Preston being a sport. I had to style my wig to look like a Palin hair style and Preston "willing"...not really- volunteered. The things you do for love!
Getting ready to go out! I have my nasty wig on....seriously-you should have felt the texture of this wig......blahhhh-but it did work well.

Family Bonding

My step brother and his family just moved to Germany for 3 years and the fam got together for one last shin-dig before they left! Location was in Clovis at Daddy & Barbara's house. Yes- which equals a lot of food and good times. Above is Joel (my step-bro & me)

Louisiana Male Bonding & 10 year Reunion

Preston headed to his roots at the beginning of October to visit family and to attend his 10 year reunion. Needless to say he had a great time of hangin with the boys. Above from left to right- Preston, Jacob (cousin), Uncle Mark, Andy (brother). The boys stayed at uncle Marks house on the lake and fished~ good times!
Preston and his friend from high school Kyle. Preston of course did not remember peoples names (a common trait-but he does remember mine-ha) and he was voted "Most Changed". I know- not because he looks different-he just has a different life style then he did then......which is a good thing.
My honey so proud in this picture! He is so cute- I believe he caught a few fish-but they released them back into the lake- I know-kudos from our hippy friends.
The picture above is Andy, Rebecca and baby Andy. This was the first time Preston met his new nephew- and he is super cute.

The Seasons Are Changing!

Welcome to the fall season in Colorado!!!! Many parts of the US this time of year have the most amazing display of colors in the changes of the leaves and Colorado I believe is among the best! A popular activity to do out here is to head to the mountains and get lost driving along a lazy winding road and just be. Relaxing and viewing the wonderful colors and smells that the Rockies provide. This particular journey we ending up in Breckenridge, CO.
P and I enjoying a lazy afternoon in the streets of Breckenridge. We love the city life, but every now and then escaping to small town life is quite pleasant. The town is gearing up for the winter season, I better located my snowboard and wax it up! (for those of you who went to NMSU...yes-that is a NMSU sweatshirt I have on...thanks mom!)
Ahhh...need I say more. This is what the majority of the ride looked like heading from Denver to Breckenridge (on the back roads...not I-70!).
Taking it easy by the river-getting some new ideas for future paintings.

Broncos vs. Saints....who do we cheer for?????

Ok faithful viewers- our computer is up and running again and now we can bless you with more pictures of our adventures. I know each of you were holding you breath waiting for this exact moment to occur- ha....ha... As you can tell- it's football season and we had tickets to the Bronco vs Saints game.
Now- this was a confusing time for us because we did not know who to cheer for (this is why Preston is wearing a Broncos t-shirt and a Saints hat). Since we lived in New Orleans (and Preston was born and raised there) would we have the desire to cheer for the Saints....or would we break old ties and attach ourselves to the team of our new home. Preston by the end of the game determined he would always be a true Saints fan. I on the other hand cheered for both teams (being that we were in Bronco country and I did not want to get my butt kicked) but I was secretly pulling for the Saints bc I know what a boost that team is to the New Orleans area and the post Katrina survivors.

Dudley-the sweet, little basset hound!

I had some cute pictures of our pooch- Beaux "Dudley" Gambordella-(yes-he has a full name). Dudley is 2 1/2 and is quite small for a basset hound, the perfect size for us. He has SO MUCH personality and is a lot of company. We got Dudley in Canton, TX while we were relocated to Garland after the hurricane. Dudley was a birthday/ graduation gift for Preston.

This is the position Dudley is in 80% of the time- curled up in a little ball taking a nap- such a hard life for him-he is so mistreated.

Ha...Ha.....the boys taking a nap-yes-Dudley is out stone cold on top of Preston. Dudley snores so LOUD- he out snores Preston on a consistant basis.

Labor Day Weekend: WE LOVE COLORADO!!

This labor day weekend we decided to play in state.....after all we do live in amazing Colorado! Many of you ask "Do you guys like living in CO"... and the answer is YES!!!! It is perfect for us in so many ways. We decided to head to southwestern CO to Canon City to see the Royal Gorge suspension bridge and to whitewater raft! The picture above is after we went whitewater rafting and caught class 4 & 5 rapides! yahoo!

Preston gearing up before we get onto the Arkansas river. We went with the Royal Gorge Whiterwater rafting company (free promo) and had a blast....and out of the 7 people in the boat- i was the only female-----yikes!!!!

Once again- the Gambordellas sure know how to cheese it up! This is outside the Royal Gorge bridge.....which is scary!!! Oh my gosh- if you have never seen this bridge-google it. People actually bungee jump off this bridge-that would be just WAY to much for me to handle.

This picture of me reminds me of a skit on SNL with Nicole Kidman and Mike Myers. The two are acting like little kids on the play ground and Mike Myers is wearing a helmet and harness-ha..ha..oh yes-if you know the skit you can see what this picture reminds me of that. "Why do you wear a Harness"....good times~ atleast I make myself laugh!

Democratic National Convention-Denver CO

If we look tired-there is a reason for that. Our church along with other local churches had a ministry to first responders during the Demo Convento. We served over 45,000 meals in a five day period and were on call 24/7. Preston worked the fork-lift at the church and I worked the night shift from 7pm-1am. It was a great experience and we were glad we could serve.

Paty modeling this dead sexy bright yellow shirt. The officers by the middle of the week began to recognize our group and gave us "special attention"- (they just wanted the food). The on going joke was that we should keep these bright yellow shirts in our cars-just incase we got pulled over for a ticket.....we could "accidentaly" pull out our yellow shirts from the glove box right by our car insurance! ...heee...heee

Daddy and Barbara Visit!!!

A couple of weekends ago- Paty's parents came up for a visit and cooking lesson at our casa. Above is Barbara teaching me to make delicious zucchini dish! I also learned to cook egg plant, finger potatoes, salsa and many more yummy treats! If you come visit us know- you will not go hungry!

Tri for the Cure- Denver 2008

Swim start at Cherry Creek Reservior for "Tri for the Cure". This was a all women's triathlon benefiting the Breast Cancer Foundation of Denver!

The night before preparing my gear. I had a sign for Barbara and my grandmother "Nanny".

My reliable subaru set and ready for the race-pretty morning for a race.

Sorry, but the following pictures are blurry. Me pedaling away on the bike portion of the race-it was nice and toasty outside.

Yahoo- this was me finishing up the race on the run! I was so happy to get to the finish line-at this time it was already 90 degrees- ugh.

Ahh-look at that huge smile- I was so happy and thankful I was done with the open water swim- open water swimming is not my favorite thing to do- I prefer pool water over dirty, bacterial filled lake water-booooooo.
